FCC Charity Committee organise a donation drive for local charity

Last week, Felpham Community College completed a donation drive for UK Harvest – a local charity which supports a number of charities across West Sussex.

Organised by the Sixth Form Charity Committee and supported by Student Council Form Representatives, all students and staff were encouraged to bring in donations of food or toiletries. The donations were then collected by UK Harvest on Thursday 2nd December.

Ms Kelly, Deputy Headteacher commented “we support a number of charities throughout the school year, with this half-term always having a focus on helping to provide for local vulnerable people in the run up to Christmas. All form groups were given a ‘bag for life’ to fill for the donation drive and we have been pleased to have collected such an amazing amount of donations! Our last charity event for this half term will be a non-school uniform day for Stonepillow, another local charity who support those in need. Thank you to all students, parents/carers and staff for their support with this donation drive – it’s events like this that make us realise how lovely our FCC school community is.”

UK Harvest representative “thank you for this huge collection of goods, it really will make a difference to a lot of people. We aim to get it all out within the next 2 weeks to people in our area who need it the most so thank you, your work has really helped!”
