Dear Parents / Carers and Students
You will be aware that levels of COVID infection are rising significantly again in the south east.
I am writing to let you know that unfortunately, due to high levels of staff absence, we find ourselves in a position where we are no longer able to safely staff all lessons for all year groups next week. In order to avoid a whole school closure, we have regrettably decided that we must close the school for one year group each day, from Monday to Thursday next week. School will remain open as usual for all other year groups.
Work for students will be set on our MS Teams platform on the day that students are not in school.
We have not taken this decision lightly but we have exhausted all possible avenues of cover and supply. We apologise sincerely for the short notice and for the inevitable inconvenience this may cause.
Monday 4th April – school closed to all Year 10 students, (open to all other year groups)
Tuesday 5th April – school closed to all Year 9 students, (open to all other year groups)
Wednesday 6th April – school closed to all Year 8 students, (open to all other year groups)
Thursday 7th April – school closed to all Year 7 students, (open to all other year groups)
Friday 8th April – school open to all year groups. 12:30pm finish.
Currently we are hoping that there will not be any need to close to other year groups on other days, but this will be reviewed daily.
Thank you all for your support in these challenging times. Hopefully, as we move into better weather after Easter, the level of COVID infections should start to fall. We hope that you, and all in our school community, stay well.
