  • OPEN EVENING 2020 – for prospective year 7 students September 2021

    date posted: 23/10/20

    Welcome to Felpham Community College

    Virtual Open Evening 2020

As you are aware, we are not able to host our usual Open Evening events at Felpham Community College this year.  However, we understand that parents will want information to help them make decisions and so we have created two short videos.

The first is a presentation by Mark Anstiss, Headteacher, which explains the FCC values and the second is a virtual tour with contributions from current students and staff.  We hope these videos give you a sense of the environment in which students learn and their journey through our school.   Additionally, the Headteacher will be hosting a live Q&A session from 6.30pm on Tuesday 29th September 2020, with the link available in the morning on the school website and FCC Facebook page and year 7 students are taking part in a Q and A session, hosted by our 6th form leadership team, discussing their first 2 weeks at FCC.   Many thanks.

At Felpham Community College we know that school uniform is at the forefront  of parents and students' minds as we prepare to return to school in September.

Government guidelines state that uniform can be worn and we are expecting all students to wear our published uniform for all school and PE lessons.

In the current climate, we understand that it can be expensive to buy the full uniform every year.  Many of our students will have had a growth spurt since the end of March and lots of parents will now find themselves with piles of outgrown, good quality uniform!

We would like to offer parents the opportunity to donate any unwanted uniform to FCC.  We will then wash it and offer it to any families who are looking to find uniform before September.  Unwanted uniforms can be dropped off at the main reception on:

    • Any day up to and including Friday 17th July, between 8.30am and 3.00pm
    • Thursday 20th August between 10.00am and 2.30pm
    • Thursday 27th August between 10.00am and 2.30pm
    • Thursday 3rd September between 8.30am and 3.00pm
    • Friday 4th September between 8.30am and 3.00pm

Parents will be able to browse and collect uniform pieces on Friday 4th September from 12.00pm - 3.00pm.  Further details will be issued nearer the time.

We will be collecting all uniform from blazers and ties to PE shorts and rugby tops.  Through donating your pre-loved uniform, you will not only be helping future students, but also helping to protect the environment.

  • The Scribbler 2020

    date posted: 03/07/20

Every year, our students produce excellent original and creative pieces in their English lessons. A tradition of our school, is that the best pieces from the academic year are selected by the English department to be celebrated and showcased in an anthology of work entitled The Scribbler.  Highlights from The Scribbler are performed at Summer Arts Evening and parents and carers of the school are able to purchase copies of this amazing work.

Unfortunately this year, the Summer Arts Evening did not run so students were not able to perform their work. However, do not despair! We are proud to announce that The Scribbler is once again back and filled as ever with amazing pieces of work from our talented students here at FCC.

Everyone can enjoy every page of this great work over the summer, please click here to view.

Well done to all the students who are featured in the 2020 edition.

    One Day......

To celebrate National Writing Day (24th June 2020), selected students across year groups were invited to take part in a challenge, hosted by First Story. The challenge was to write a 24 word story beginning with ‘One day…’ and upload it on social media if they wished to. The initiative was supported by authors and writers to engage children in writing, and an encouraging number of our students chose to take part. Well done to all the students who submitted a story, they were all great to read and were an excellent showcase of the imaginative and creative writing skills our students have.
