Congratulations to Jenny Robson, year 12 student at FCC, who recently spent a week (13-17 July) at the University of Oxford – as part of the prestigious UNIQ programme. The UNIQ programme is Oxford’s outreach initiative designed to give students a taste of university life and academic study.
During her residential stay, Jenny had the opportunity to experience life on campus, staying in Oxford accommodation and immersing herself in the vibrant university community. She took part in a range of academic activities focused on Modern Foreign Languages, gaining a valuable insight into what it is like to study languages at degree level.
Oxford University commented:
“Reflecting on the programme, Jenny told us that that she particularly enjoyed the atmosphere of university life and the opportunity to learn from leading experts in the field. The experience has given her a real insight into studying at Oxford and has encouraged her to seriously consider Oxford university as one of her options for higher education. Congratulations to Jenny on this fantastic achievement. We look forward to seeing where your passion for languages takes you in the future.”
Jenny commented:
“One of the highlights of the week was attending a series of lectures on French literature, which I found both challenging and inspiring. The experience has allowed me to explore the subject in much greater depth and I really enjoyed the week – especially the discussions with the other students I met and the lecturers.”
