Headteacher's Welcome

Thank you for your interest in Felpham Community College.

Choosing the right secondary school is a very important decision.  We hope that this website provides you with useful information and gives you a flavour of our school.

The COVID-19 pandemic has created many challenges for society and schools have worked hard to mitigate risk.  Unfortunately, we are not in a position this year to operate our normal Open Evening and Open Mornings because we need to strictly limit the number of people on-site.  As a result, we will be creating a virtual experience for year 6 students and parents which we hope will help you to find out about our school and answer your questions.

Despite the challenges of the pandemic, Felpham Community College is in a very strong position.  In 2019, the school underwent significant building work costing over £11.5M.  Students joining us now benefit from fantastic modern facilities in our new three-storey Blake Building that replaced all of our older classrooms.  Whilst great schools are about the people in them and not just the buildings, the enhanced facilities at Felpham have been a massive boost.

Our examination results are strong and we anticipate another year of excellent results with our current year 11 and year 13.  However, we also recognise that great schools are about more than just exam results and we have worked hard to create an exciting, engaging and broad curriculum for all students.  At Felpham, we believe in getting the basics right so we have also focused on developing a safe, calm and purposeful learning environment with excellent student behaviour and a smart school uniform.  In March 2019 we had a short OFSTED inspection and were delighted to maintain our 'Good' status, which we have now held since January 2016.

Felpham Community College has moved a huge distance over the years but we are not complacent.  Our foundations are firm and our committed and enthusiastic staff are determined to create a truly outstanding school.

We are looking for young people who we can inspire, support and develop to reach their full potential.  I hope you will join us.
