Successful OFSTED Inspection

Felpham Community College received a 2-day OFSTED inspection at the end of October, the penultimate week before the half term break.

The inspection was designated an ‘Ungraded’ one – which means the team ascertain whether a school has ‘taken effective action to maintain the standards identified at the previous inspection’. For FCC, this meant successfully maintaining a judgement of ‘Good’ in all areas, with effective safeguarding.

The OFSTED report following the inspection was published on the 22nd November and is available on the below link.

Ms Pike, Headteacher at Felpham commented:
“As a school community, we are very pleased and proud that we were successful in providing the evidence required to maintain the standards identified at our previous inspection – ‘Good’ in all areas, with effective safeguarding.
For us, the report really reflects the unique and special qualities that we have as a school, and acknowledges the progress we have already made, as well as our commitment to the journey ahead. As a school, we do not rest on our laurels, and it so gratifying to know that the areas for improvement are exactly the things that we are already working extremely hard to achieve. We can now continue our journey exactly as we had hoped and planned, which we are looking forward to doing.
Thank you to our staff and our students for their hard work and commitment to FCC.”

Wembley for the Lionesses!

A group of Felpham Community College students went to Wembley to see the England Lionesses vs Germany on Friday 25th October.

The girls, selected from the FCC girls football teams, were lucky enough to go in the fan zone to take part in some activities before the match. Then once in the stadium, they watched a light and fireworks show.

Miss Shine, Teacher of PE commented:
Unfortunately England lost the game; however, the atmosphere was fantastic and a great experience to go. The girls were amazing and all really enjoyed themselves. It was amazing to see just under 50,000 spectators at Wembley which just shows the positive impact Women’s football is having on our society!

We have KS3 Girls football club at Felpham every Thursday after school and KS4 girls football every Wednesday for students. Fixtures have started well this year, with our U14s team just going through to the next round of the County Cup.

Parent Governor Wanted!

Every maintained school in England has a Governing Body responsible to the local community for running the school.  We currently have one vacancy for a Parent Governor and we are inviting expressions of interest.

Governors provide an invaluable role in the life of the school. They are responsible for the overall strategy, for planning improvements and overseeing finance.  They help appoint college staff and to build good relations between the school, parents and the local community.

If you’re interested in joining our governing body, please complete the form below and return to clerktogovernors@felpham.org.uk no later than Friday 29th November 2024.
