Felpham students are celebrating improved GCSE and BTEC results, with more top grades and a significant rise in strong passes in English and Mathematics.

This year, the school has seen an increase in the number of students achieving the highest grades, with more students securing grades 7-9 than in previous years. Particularly pleasing is a 10% increase in the number of students achieving strong passes in both English and Mathematics.

Among the many outstanding individual achievements were:
· Jamie ,who achieved six GCSEs at Grade 9 and three at Grade 8.
· Daniel, who achieved five Grade 9s and four Grade 8s.
· Julia, who achieved five Grade 9s, two Grade 8s and two Grade 7s.
· Dominik, who achieved 10 GCSEs at grades 7-9.
· Maisie, Paige and Sophie, who all achieved grades 7-9 across all their qualifications.

Suzanne Pike, Headteacher, said:
“Today is a day to celebrate our young people and everything they have achieved through hard work, determination and resilience. We are incredibly proud of the results our students have achieved and of the way they have embraced every opportunity during their time at Felpham.
We are particularly pleased to see more students attaining the highest grades and a significant increase in the number achieving strong passes in both English and Mathematics. These improvements reflect the ambition of our students, the dedication of our staff and the support of families, all working together to help every young person succeed.
At Felpham, our aim is for every student to leave us with the ambition, knowledge, skills, values and experiences needed to exceed their potential and make a positive difference in the world. These results provide a strong foundation for the next stage of our students’ journeys, whether that is Sixth Form, further education, apprenticeships or employment.

We are delighted that many of our students will continue their education in our thriving Sixth Form, where they will further develop the academic, personal and leadership skills that will help them flourish in the future.

Jamie, Max and Max: “We are all really happy with our results, and did better than some of our predicted grades. We are planning on coming back and studying in the sixth form.”
Daniel: “I achieved higher than I expected – I have definitely improved since all my year 11 mocks! It was really hard work and I am so glad it is finished, and I am really pleased with my results. I got 5x 9s, 4x 8s and 1x 7. I am coming back to Felpham Sixth Form to study A Levels.
Maisie: “I am absolutely over the moon! I did so much better than I had expected. I achieved 2x9s, 6x8s, 1x 7 – I am in shock! I am now looking forward to starting at FCC Sixth Form in a couple of weeks.
Dennis: “I am so happy with my results. I passed all my GCSEs, with grades 5 and above. At the moment, I can’t decide whether to go to Chichester College to study Business, Law and History – or to come back to Felpham Sixth Form. I have couple of weeks to make my mind up!”

Students and staff at Felpham Community College were celebrating today as Sixth Form students achieved an excellent set of A Level and vocational qualification results, enabling large numbers of young people to progress to their chosen university courses, apprenticeships and employment opportunities.

The results represent one of the strongest sets of outcomes achieved by the sixth form in recent years and reflect the hard work, resilience and ambition of students. Among the 100% of students passing, a quarter of them achieved the highest grades of A*-A at A level and 55% at Distinction*- Distinction, with many securing places at their first-choice destinations. These include Oxford University, other prestigious universities, and apprenticeships and work placements.

Their success marks the culmination of years of commitment from students and teachers alike, and provides further evidence of the increasingly strong outcomes being achieved within the school’s sixth form provision.

“We are absolutely delighted with this year’s results and incredibly proud of everything our students have achieved. These outcomes are a reflection of the dedication, perseverance and ambition that this year group has demonstrated throughout their time in the sixth form.
We have high expectations for our students and they have risen to that challenge. What pleases me most is seeing so many young people achieving the results they need to progress to their preferred destinations and begin the next exciting chapter of their lives. They should be immensely proud of themselves.”

These students represent the highest overall outcomes among many personal successes, but across the board staff stressed that success should be measured not only in grades, but also in the wide range of destinations, aspirations and achievements represented across the year group.

Whether students are progressing to university, higher apprenticeships or employment, they leave us with the skills, confidence and character to make a positive contribution to the world beyond school.”
